Rabies is an incurable disease and the rabies vaccine is a lifesaving drug. So when batches of spurious vaccines are discovered, it is a matter of great concern.

In April this year a batch of spurious rabies vaccines was identified and traced to an address in Mukherjee Nagar in Delhi. The vaccines were fake but were being sold under the brand name Abhayrab, which is widely used in India.
