A full-scale security clampdown in Delhi did not deter protesters from coming out in large numbers to demand the resignation of the Chief Election Commissioner, Gyanesh Kumar, and a rolling back of the revision of electoral rolls.

The main leaders of the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) — Abhijeet Dipke, Ashutosh Ranka, Saurav Das and Ratna Singh — were detained in the morning hours at the airport but it was not known till evening what they were being charged with.
