Two months after getting the Union Education Minister to resign over a dysfunctional examination system, the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) has launched another national campaign — this time directed at the Chief Election Commissioner, Gyanesh Kumar Gupta, who stands accused of arbitrary deletion of voters’ names for the electoral rolls.

Styled as ‘Gaddar Gyanu Must Go’ in the spirit of CJP’s Gen Z following, the campaign drew protesters in thousands at Shivaji Park in Mumbai where entry was disallowed but a makeshift stage on the park’s boundary became the epicentre of the action. Vishal Dadlani, Naseeruddin Shah and Shabana Azmi were among the celebrities who were visible with their support.
